conductor

Conductor Debashish Chaudhuri’s musical sensibility and captivating interpretations stem from a unique blend of Indian and European cultures. A native of Kolkata, India, he studied in India, the U.S., Singapore, England, Italy, and the Czech Republic, where he has lived for 20 years and was the first Indian to study conducting at the Prague Conservatory. During this time, he forged a close relationship with the family of Antonín Dvořák. In 2004, he won first prize at the conducting competition in Lausanne, Switzerland, and became a finalist at the most prestigious conducting competition in Besançon, France. He currently collaborates with many philharmonic orchestras in the Czech Republic and abroad.

“My greatest passion is music as a source of joy and inspiration for both the orchestra and the audience.”
